ITALIAN FOR SINGERS
Drawing by film director Ettore Scola
As part of its work in linguistic research, Scudit has developed a specific programme for singers.
The programme is offered in collaboration with Dr Anastasia Kananovich, lecturer in Phonetics and Linguistics at the University of Besançon (France) and researcher in the intelligibility of choral singing.
Thanks to this scientific collaboration, our courses go beyond general Italian language skills to focus specifically on:
-
Phonetics and intelligibility of Italian sung texts: bridging the gap between correct Italian pronunciation and the mechanics of the singing voice.
-
Libretto analysis: developing a deeper understanding of the poetic and archaic structures of the great Italian operatic repertoire.
-
Italian for singers: exploring the connections between musical terminology and spoken Italian, as well as the specialized vocabulary needed for professional communication in the world of music, including written correspondence with agents, impresarios, etc.
